Zgodovina in zanimivosti

KRATKA ZGODOVINA

Picture3

Prvi zapisi o goji jagodah izvirajo iz kitajske zgodovine.  Prvič so bile omenjene pred približno 2000 leti v zapisih o užitnih divjih rastlinah.

Tam so pridelovalne razmere najprimernejše (tla bogata s hranili in minerali).

Komercialno goji jagode pridelujejo skoraj izključno na Kitajskem. Letna pridelava znaša 100,000 ton (2004)

Revija Time Magazine je goji jagode razglasila za supersadež leta 2008

INTERVJU

Do many people in China eat Goji berries? Yes, a lot of people do eat Goji. Some eat them because their doctors told them to do so, some just want to keep healthy.

Do people grow them at home or do they buy them? Most of people, especially people living in cities, buy them from hospitals, medicine stores and supermarkets. It is easy to find Goji in China.

In what form do people eat goji berries? Dried fruits? Fresh? Prepared in different dishes (what kind of dishes)? Tea? We often eat dried Goji. The most easy way is to eat dried goji every day. Secondly, there are different kinds of tea including goji, however, they all need some other raw materials which I can not find in Slovenia. For example, dried chrysanthemum, we often put dried goji and dried chrysanthemum toghther to make tea, which can help relief your tired eyes.

Do people use leaves or other parts of the plant? I am not sure about this. I searched it on internet and found only in some small parts of China people eat the leaves. They use the leaves to cook dishes and make soup.

When should you east Goji berries according to chinese medicine? When not? When you are healthy, you can eat some goji. Otherwise, please do not eat them. About the cold and hot principle, it is a bit difficult to explain, but I will try. According to traditional chinese medicine, food and medicines are divided into two types regard to their nature, cold and hot. Goji is hot. So when you are healthy, the cold and hot in your body are balanced and you can eat goji to make you more healthy. However, when you fall sick, the proportion of cold and hot is changed. At this time, you must know whether the hot is stronger than the cold or not, or the other way round and then you can dicide whether to eat goji or not. For common people it is difficult to make sure, so it is better not to eat them when you are not healty.

What effect do goji berries have on the body? Goji can make your Kidney stronger, protect your liver and do good to your eyes.

How much goji berries should you eat per day? If you eat them directly, about 20 in the morning and 20 in the evening. If you make some tea, about 10 for one cup. It is what coommon people in China do.
